Research in Motion (RIM) lost 1.8 million subscribers in the United States during the past three months, until September 2011. Data obtained based on comScore's MobiLens survey of smartphone users, since mobile phones with the latest BlackBerry operating system 7 entry into the market.
With this amount, meaning that RIM has lost 10 percent of customers compared to the number of subscribers in June 2011. In fact, a total of smart phone users in the United States over the age of 13 years increased by 12 percent, to 87.4 million by the end of June. Mean, there are 9.4 million smart phones sold in the period June to September, but not the RIM products.
Based on the survey, the products that dominate the market in the last three months is Google's Android, which mengusai 40.2 percent of the smart phone market in June 2011 and increased 24, 8 percent in September 2011.
The second position is that controls 26.6 percent of Apple's smart phone market in June 2011 and increased 15.4 percent in September 2011. Apple's sales increased since the launch of the iPhone 4S though afterwards reap many complaints from buyers.
RIM is still occupying the third position in the United States despite losing customers as much as 1, 8 million. Then followed the Microsoft and Symbian are developing very slowly.
