Huawei and Microsoft Negotiate Patent Android

Microsoft has made an agreement royalty per device for Android products many companies, including Samsung, HTC, Compal and more. Device makers from China, Huawei, are also reportedly being targeted.

Now, Huawei is reported to have confirmed it. Huawei party claimed to have been in talks with Microsoft about using Android software.

Victor Xu, chief marketing officer of Huawei Device said, discussions with the Microsoft is in the process. On the other hand, Microsoft declined to comment on the patent licensing discussions.

Xu statement also creates an impression that it had enough ammunition separately to protect themselves from patent lawsuits. "We always respect the Intellectual Property Rights. Today we have more than 65,000 patem, and we have enough instruments to protect our interests," said Xu.

So far, Microsoft has received royalties from several producers who issued the Android-based products. Including Samsung, HTC, Compal Electronics (Dell, HP and Toshiba), Quanta Computer, Wistron, General Dynamics Itronix, Velocity Micro, Onkyo, Acer, and Viewsonic.

In addition, Microsoft also involved a patent dispute with several other companies. One of them is patent dispute with Motorola in which the two companies sued each other.

Huawei's latest smart phone products, Vision will run on the Android operating system Gingerbread 2.3. In addition, 7-inch tablet Huawei, which will use the Android Honeycomb MediaPad. This is believed to contribute behind Huawei patent talks with Microsoft.
